Founded in 2005, Cellcrypt's R&D innovation resulted in Encrypted Mobile Content Protocol (EMCP), an Internet Protocol (IP) based technology that optimizes delivery of encrypted data between mobile devices over wireless networks. Cellcrypt's encryption engine, developed by the company at its offices in London, UK, has been certified to FIPS 140-2 standard approved by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Cellcrypt Mobile Baseline™ for BlackBerry® is CESG CAPS approved. CAPS (CESG Assisted Products Service) is a UK Government Cryptographic Evaluation Service run by CESG, the UK’s National Technical Authority for Information Assurance.
